A science laboratory with white benches, sinks and lime green chairs

Lab Systems: laboratory furniture and fume hoods.

Benches, cabinets, service columns and fume hoods for schools, universities, hospitals, and research and industrial laboratories. We plan the room in 3D and supply it through a unique partnership with a leading UAE OEM.

A research laboratory with island benches, service columns and extraction arms

One system for the whole laboratory.

We supply laboratory furniture for universities, hospitals, and research, industrial, quality control and pharmaceutical laboratories, and science rooms for schools. Benches, cabinets, worktops, service columns, fume hoods and storage come from one modular system, in steel or in wood and plastic.

Two catalogues carry the detail: C-Line for the laboratory itself and TEC-ONOMIC for the school science room. Both are on this page, to download.

Laboratory furniture

Benches, base, hanging and tall cabinets, and worktops in six panel qualities, in steel or in wood and plastic.

Service columns and fume hoods

Vertical and horizontal service supply, and fume hoods in four types with AIR-TEC extraction.

School science rooms

A swing-out bench that seats up to six students and folds back into its cabinet when the room is needed for ordinary lessons.

What we supply

Everything that goes into the room, planned together.

Laboratory island bench with drawer units and service columns, fume hoods behind

Benches, cabinets and storage

Island and wall benches, with base cabinets on feet, rollers or a plinth, hanging and tall cabinets, drawers and pull-out units. Cabinets are solid sheet steel, fire load resistant, with a wide choice of colours, or wood and plastic: 19 mm melamine-coated board with ABS edging.

Shelves and drawers are powder-coated sheet steel in both versions, and drawers run on full-extension, self-closing runners with damped end positions. Rollers can replace feet or a plinth on the same cabinet, so units are moved and reconfigured without taking the installation apart.

Cabinets
Solid sheet steel, or 19 mm melamine board with ABS edging
Underbench
On feet, on rollers, on a plinth or in a C-shaped base
Fronts
Hinged doors, flap doors, drawers and pharmacy pull-outs
Storage
Pull-out racks, baskets and bins, tall pull-out units, and a rail-mounted ladder for high cabinets

Service supply columns

Sanitation, gas and electrical services reach the bench through service columns, vertical or horizontal. Vertical columns are 600, 900, 1200 or 1500 mm wide and 1540, 1980 or 2600 mm high, as single, follow-on, corner and T modules. Horizontal columns come in the same widths at 1715 mm high, with the services set in large panels side by side and no break across the bench.

Electrical and sanitation modules can be exchanged or added after installation. Load-bearing aluminium racks carry reagent racks, hanging cabinets and height-adjustable equipment racks, and splash guards in composite safety glass, or reach-throughs, give transparency between columns.

Vertical
600, 900, 1200 and 1500 mm wide; 1540, 1980 and 2600 mm high
Horizontal
600, 900, 1200 and 1500 mm wide; 1715 mm high
Modules

Fume hoods and hazardous storage

Fume hoods come as bench, low-room, low-level and walk-in types, with a two- or four-track front slider, or a single or telescopic slider. AIR-TEC extraction draws air through the full area of a perforated back wall, which keeps the flow across the hood laminar and holds full extraction capacity with the window open.

The columns at the front of the hood are shaped to hold its retention capacity when air is disturbed in front of it, the situation EN 14175 tests by moving a plate back and forth. Beneath the hood sit shelves, drawers, or acid and alkali cabinets in 600, 900 and 1200 mm widths with their own extraction, and a separate FW 90 cabinet takes hazardous materials.

Types
Bench, low-room, low-level and walk-in
Front
Two- or four-track slider; single or telescopic slider
Extraction
AIR-TEC, through a perforated back wall
Beneath
Shelves, drawers, hinged doors, acid and alkali cabinets, FW 90 cabinet

Planned in 3D before it is built.

We draw the room in 3D from your drawings or a room brief, then render it with textures, so the layout, colours and materials are seen before an order is placed.

Planning settles the questions that cost most to change later, and it covers the sanitation, electrical and ventilation connections as well as the furniture.

Worktops, colours and finishes

Six worktop qualities, three steel colour groups and seven melamine decors as standard. Other colours and decors on request.

Almost all worktop panels come with or without beaded edging. The steel colour groups apply to steel cabinets and metal components only.

Science rooms for schools

One room for physics, chemistry, biology and technical instruction.

The heart of the TEC-ONOMIC system is a swing-out lab bench at which up to six students sit to carry out experiments. For a lesson with a blackboard, projector or monitor wall, the bench swings back into its cabinet and the whole room is free again.

Bench and cabinet stay connected to each other, and to electricity, water, wastewater, gas and other media. Open the door, swing the bench out through 90 degrees, close the door and join the mobile tables, and the room is ready for experiments.

Rectangular bench

A straight-lined design that combines easily with classic rectangular tables. Set the tables in rows facing the teacher for a lecture, or join them to the swing-out benches for group experiments.

Hexagonal bench seen from above, with sink, fittings and sockets

Hexagonal bench

Needs less space and takes a touch screen. Up to five HDMI inputs for notebooks and tablets, an integrated computer with a touchscreen and a pivoting camera, and a button that sends the picture to other benches, the teacher or the class screen.

Teacher bench

The teacher's own bench, with a sink, fittings, sockets, data and HDMI connections and a webcam, beside a table that moves from 700 to 1180 mm on a gas lift for sitting or standing.

One room, two layouts

The tables are mobile and the benches stow away, so the same room runs as a laboratory for one lesson and a classroom for the next.

Questions we are asked

Who makes the laboratory furniture?

We supply it through a unique partnership with a leading UAE OEM. Xpitrade plans the room, quotes the project and supports the delivery and installation, so you deal with one company throughout.

What do you supply?

Laboratory benches and cabinets in steel or in wood and plastic, vertical and horizontal service supply columns, fume hoods in four types with AIR-TEC extraction, acid and alkali storage, and a swing-out bench system for school science rooms.

Which laboratories is it for?

Schools and universities, hospitals, and research, industrial, quality control and pharmaceutical laboratories. The system is modular, so layouts are built to the room.

What is the swing-out bench for schools?

A laboratory bench that swings out of its cabinet so up to six students can sit and experiment, and swings back in when the room is needed for ordinary lessons. Bench and cabinet stay connected to each other and to electricity, water, wastewater, gas and other media.

Can colours, worktops and layout be specified?

Yes. Steel cabinets come in three colour groups and wood-and-plastic cabinets in seven melamine decors, with other colours on request. Worktops come in six panel qualities, from melamine resin to stainless steel and porcelain stoneware. Layouts are planned in 3D against your drawings or ours.

Can I see the catalogues?

Yes. The C-Line catalogue (27 pages) and the TEC-ONOMIC school catalogue (18 pages) are PDFs in English. Give us your first name, second name and email address and we email a personal link to each. Download them here.

How does a project run, and where do you deliver?
