The small-area recirculation vault assembly: the pump, float valve and timer of an EPIC cell in a single vault, closing the loop between the drain and the inlet.
The recirculation vault closes the circuit of a small EPIC cell. It receives the field's drainage under gravity, returns it to the EPIC inlet vault on a programmed cycle, and draws on the mains only when the loop runs short, with one power point and no pressurised distribution network.
It is supplied as one assembly: an integral float valve, an irrigation pump, an outdoor programmable timer, and a sealed base with four ports for the field drain, the pump supply, the mains feed to the float valve and the final drainage stub. It is placed near the area it serves and lower than it, so the field drains to the vault by gravity alone.
The sheet shows how the vault sits in the loop in four steps, collect, top up, return and overflow, with a section through an EPIC cell and an elevation of the vault and its ports. The specification page gives area served, dimensions, weight, materials, construction, connections, power, cover, packaging and end of life, and sets out the operating regime from establishment to established turf.
A specifier's note covers where the vault is set and when a reservoir standpipe and pump set is specified instead, for larger areas or where fertigation is required, with a pointer to Volume 1, Design Manual & Strategy. Listed applications run from sports fields, parks and school grounds to medians, courtyards, green roofs, tree pits and demonstration plots.
